ICSIC Provides Inland Services in Canada

ICSIC also provides immigration services for people who are already in Canada; these services include immigration consultation, family sponsorship, temporary resident status restoration, PR card renewal, a visitor to study or work permit, etc.

The service includes the following but not limited to them:

We provide 30-minute free assessments. After 30 minutes, we will charge a consultation fee of 150 CAD/hour. If we were retained after the consultation, the fee would become a part of the service fee.

If a temporary resident has lost his status or his authorisation to work or study expires, he may apply to restore that status in accordance with IRPR.

It is important to note that since status and authorisation are not the same under the IRPA, an applicant can only restore their status to that of a temporary resident and to the authorisation that they held immediately prior to the restoration application. For example, a student who lost their status cannot apply to restore temporary resident status with authorisation to work.

Foreign nationals who are in Canada as visitors and who receive a valid job offer will continue to be able to apply for and receive a work permit without having to leave the country. Visitors applying under this public policy who held a work permit within the last 12 months, will also continue to be able to request interim work authorization to begin working for their new employer more quickly. Set to expire today, this COVID-era temporary public policy has been extended by 2 years until February 28, 2025. Leaving this temporary policy in place makes visitors an option for employers in Canada, as many are facing significant labor shortages during this period of economic expansion.

You can apply for an open work permit if you’re one of the following:

A spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner living in Canada who’s being sponsored for permanent residence
An accompanying dependent child of the principal applicant

In a genuine relationship with your sponsor
Included in an application for permanent residence, and have an Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) letter confirming that your permanent residence application is being processed
Living in Canada with your sponsor
